Kingfisher Family

The kingfishers can be seen hunting along Gaviota Creek in the canyon, and where it curves around the campground. The perch on the branches of trees and shrubs growing from the stratified Monterey Formation walls of Gaviota Canyon. This family of patterns and prints captures their colors, and applies them to artistically transformed photos of the fascinating layered strata so prominent along this scenic piece of the Central California coast.
